This article emerges from an investigation, which aims to generate an environmental strategy that minimizes the impact of air quality produced by the combustion of charcoal in the population of Barrio Nueva Colombia in the Buenaventura district, developed through a qualitative approach, using ethnography and the Likert scale survey to obtain information as a technique, the analysis strategies are carried out by means of the tabulation represented in pie charts and a triple entry chart.
Their findings show that obtaining charcoal causes severe damage to human health through respiratory diseases, it also generates the felling of native trees, as well as the displacement of flora, therefore decreasing air quality, among others. In the same way, it is essential that the inhabitants of the Nueva Colombia neighborhood carry out the obtaining of charcoal in a more environmentally friendly manner, contributing to the conservation, protection and preservation of fauna, flora, ecosystems and human beings.
