The tamborero Sphoeroides rosenblatti (Tetradontidae) stands out between the resources ícticos "fish community" of the Colombian Pacific Ocean, considering the flavor and steadfastness of his meat. The demand and high price of the fish on the Asian markets and his easy production in captivity make it desirable in the mariculture. This investigation proposed to evaluate the growth and the survival of juvenile of the tamborero cultivated in tanks with balanced food of three levels of protein like that: 30%, 40% and 45%. There were used juvenile captured of the middle that registered an initial weight of 5, 67 ±1, 37 g. The experimental design was completely random with three repetitions and it was carried out in tanks of fiberglass of 300 L, the fish were fed three times a day to a ration of 6 % of the biomass a day, for 87 days, sampling every 15 days the weight and the height. It was found that the diets with 40% and 45% were not presenting significant differences (p> 0.05). The daily maximum increase in weight was 0, 07 g/day with the diet 40 % and 45 %; the minimum was 0, 04 g/day with the diet 30 %, which represents a difference of 50 % in favor of the diets with 40 % and 45 %, as regards the diet of 30 %. The survival was 61, 44 ± 4, 28, ending the practicability and economic advantages of the diet of 40 % of protein.
